Streaming Video collections at Trexler Library

Trexler Library has many options for providing video online, streaming, and via Digital Site License.

To locate a video for use in a class, first be sure to search the Trexler Library catalog (Encompass Search) for streaming films and DVD currently available to you.

If we don’t have the film you need, let us know. We currently have active accounts set up with the providers listed to the left.

NOTE: this list is not intended to limit your choice of providers, but rather to let you know the providers that we already have established connections with. We will research your streaming request and set up accounts with new providers as needed.

Encompass search tips

Search Encompass Search to find DVDs and videos in the library, as well as streaming video.

Use the Format: Video limit on the left sidebar of your search results page to limit results to all forms of video including DVDs, VHS, and streaming video; or you can limit to a specific format.

Many items will be "Held by" Trexler Library... note the call number and status of the item to check its location and availability.

  • Audiovisual materials such as DVDs and CDs held by other libraries are often not available for interlibrary loan. Go ahead and request them though, and we will let you know if they are available!
  • AV materials at other LVAIC libraries may be borrowed by Muhlenberg students, but only if requested by the professor teaching the course in question. Such requests should be submitted by the professor to the Lending Services Desk at Trexler Library.

If you are planning on showing a streaming video to a group outside of a classroom teaching environment, you may need to secure the 'Public Performance Rights" (or PPRs) for the title in question.

Many of the titles held at Trexler Library already have PPRs associated with them, but most popular "feature films" do not.

Please see our guide on Public Performance Rights for information on how to easily obtain the rights.
