How to enable links to Muhlenberg Full Text

Before Muhlenberg Full Text links can be displayed on your device along with open access full text links, you must change your Google Scholar settings. The instructions and functionality differ depending on whether you are on campus or off campus. Off campus functionality is limited.

On Campus

How To set up Muhlenberg Full Text links - step by step

  1. Go to Google Scholar
  2. Open the menu on the left side of the screen
  3. Click on "Settings"
  4. Click on "Library links"
  5. In the search box, type "Muhlenberg College Library"
  6. You should see "Muhlenberg College Library" pop up below the search box and include a checkbox.
  7. Make sure the box is checked and then click "Save" at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Please note that blocking third-party cookies will not disrupt this service.

Off Campus

First you must have set up On Campus Library links. If this is set up and you have used Google Scholar while on campus, article links might work off campus too. Off-campus access links work by recording your subscriptions when you visit Scholar while on-campus, and looking up the recorded subscriptions later when you are off-campus. This record is saved for 30 days. Multiple articles can be recorded. In addition to Google Scholar search results, off-campus access links can appear on articles from publishers participating in the off-campus subscription access program. These will display as links labeled [PDF] or [HTML] on the right hand side of article pages without showing "Muhlenberg Full Text". You can enable/disable off-campus access links on the Scholar settings page.

  • if you have access to campus VPN, sign in while using Google Scholar.
  • look up an article in the library's catalog/discovery service, Encompass Search.
