Public Performance Rights (PPR) for video at Trexler Library

When do you need PPR?

Public Performance Rights are necessary for public screenings of media to audiences outside the regular curriculum. 

So... what does "public screening" mean?

Examples of events where you would need to obtain performance rights include:

  • Student club events

  • Extra-curricular sponsored events

  • Film series or “Movie nights”

  • Film festivals

Basically any time you show a film or video to a group outside of a classroom or teaching environment.


Public performance rights are not needed...
