Anthologies, 'Monuments' or Denkmäler

'Monuments' or Denkmäler– Are collected anthologies that focus on a particular country, region, time period, or type of music rather than a single composer. It is not uncommon for individual volumes to have their own specific editors with a general editor or editorial committee overseeing the creation of the series.

Some important monument series titles include: Musica Britannica, and Recent Researches in Music. (For a complete list of holdings at Trexler Library, see "Anthologies" under the "Collections and Anthologies" tab.)
Significant publishers include: A-R Editions, Bärenreiter, and Éditions de l’Oiseau-Lyre among others.
